Belarus issued more than 2,000 electronic visas over the past year. This was stated by head of e-commerce at the National Centre for Electronic Services Sviatlana Karanevich.
“The most active users are Americans, Canadians, Germans, Koreans and Europeans”, she said, BelTA reported.
“Applicants fill in the visa application form, pay the consular fee and receive the desired visa file, which is a document containing a QR code. This QR code must be presented when entering the Republic of Belarus. Border guards scan the code, access the Foreign Ministry information system where electronic data on issued visas is stored, and confirm that the visa linked to this QR code is valid, was genuinely issued, has not expired and that the citizen may cross the border”, she explained.
It should be recalled that Belarus introduced electronic visas on March 20, 2025. They are issued through the National Centre for Electronic Services E-Pasluga portal. Citizens of 67 countries can obtain electronic visas. The consular fee for an electronic visa is the same as for a standard visa. In addition, applicants must pay a service fee of €6.
Electronic visas are single-entry and individual and are issued for a period of no more than 30 days. Depending on the purpose of travel, the following categories of electronic visas are available: business trips; participation in sports, cultural, scientific and educational events and internships; private matters; and tourism.
