The Finance Ministry of Belarus has announced the placement of U.S. dollar-denominated government bonds on the Belarusian Currency and Stock Exchange. The placement will begin on March 5 and continue until September 7.
The volume of the 362nd issue will amount to $50 million. The nominal value of one bond is $1,000. The securities are to be redeemed on May 14, 2031. The bonds carry a fixed interest income of 2.9 percent per annum, to be paid twice a year.
The parameters of the issue are close to those of the 357th issue, which was placed through an auction. Following the auction, the interest rate for that issue was set at 2.9 percent per annum. During the initial placement, bonds worth $20.046 million were sold. Additional placement of the issue on the exchange system began on February 23, and in the first days almost the entire remaining volume of securities was purchased. Only nine bonds of the 357th issue remain available on the exchange system.
