On June 2, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankou met with North Korean Minister of External Economic Affairs Yun Jong Ho.
The sides discussed ways to intensify bilateral cooperation following the visit of Aliaksandr Lukashenka to North Korea, placing particular emphasis on cooperation in agriculture, food security, and healthcare.
The interlocutors noted their mutual interest in translating the high level of political contacts into new promising economic projects and agreed to accelerate preparations for the fourth meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Government of Belarus and the Government of the DPRK, which is to be held in Minsk, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry reported.
As previously reported, on June 1 Yun Jong Ho met with Deputy Prime Minister Yury Shuleika. The sides expressed their readiness to expand cooperation in the field of food security.
