Belarus and North Korea Agree on Steps to Elevate Relations to a New Level

Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhankou held talks with North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui.

According to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed the development of traditionally friendly relations between the two countries. It was noted that the principles of respect for sovereignty, equality and mutual benefit form the basis of Belarusian–Korean cooperation.

The ministers noted the intensification of dialogue at various levels and discussed the schedule of bilateral contacts.

“An agreement was reached to expand cooperation in all areas, including political, trade and economic, humanitarian and other spheres. The sides confirmed their readiness for continued mutual support in international forums with the aim of shaping a fair, multipolar world order. They agreed on specific steps to strengthen cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries to bring relations to a new level,” the ministry said in a statement.
