Banks Issued 14.13 Billion Roubles in Loans to Legal Entities in January

In January, banks issued loans to legal entities totalling 14.13 billion roubles. These data were published by the National Bank of Belarus. Lending growth compared with the same month last year amounted to 4.3%.

The volume of short-term lending in January increased by 2.9% year on year to 12.36 billion roubles, while long-term lending rose by 15% to 1.77 billion roubles.

As of February 1, the debt of legal entities to banks on loans stood at 66.5 billion roubles. Over the month, it increased by 460 million roubles. Over the year, the volume of debt grew by 10.7%.

Debt on short-term loans declined by 2.8% year on year to 28.86 billion roubles, while debt on long-term loans increased by 23.9% to 37.65 billion roubles.

Overdue debt of legal entities to banks as of February 1 amounted to 198.9 million roubles. It decreased by 646.6 million roubles in January. Compared with February 1, 2025, overdue debt increased by 581.6 million roubles.
