Authorities in Vitsyebsk are dealing with the aftermath of a ground collapse near a residential building on Shradera Street. The ground gave way yesterday morning during excavation work related to the installation of a sewer pipe.
Residents of the building were temporarily evacuated while the work is underway.
“Work is being carried out to fill the excavation pit with mineralized soil and sand, and to install reinforced concrete slabs for the subsequent driving of sheet piles,” the Emergencies Ministry said.
Work on laying the sewer pipe is also already underway.
