Ambulance crews in Belarus will receive panic buttons that will allow them to quickly call the police. Deputy Head of the Interior Ministry’s Department of Security Vadzim Vazniasenski told Belarusian television reported. According to him, the buttons for calling law enforcement officers will be integrated into the software used by medical workers.
“It is no secret that ambulance crews in Minsk use an electronic call card. Every crew has a tablet. It records the caller’s details and also includes what is known as a health checklist. In other words, they have their own software product that allows them to track the medics’ actions and the patient’s subsequent status. A software panic button is integrated into this system: when necessary, it is pressed and the signal comes to us. We simply see the address and respond to it promptly,” he said.
A similar solution was previously implemented in the capital’s public transport system. Every bus and trolleybus is equipped with a panic button: drivers can access it on their work terminals, while inspectors use a mobile app. Up to seven calls are recorded each month.
