About 300 People Convicted in Belarus in 2025 for “Illegal Actions Against Police Officers”

In 2025, about 300 people were convicted for violence, threats, insults or resistance against officers of internal affairs bodies and servicemen of internal troops. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, BelTA writes.

The ministry said that officers often face aggression and direct threats while responding to reports of crimes, administrative offences and other incidents.

“Last year, nearly 300 people were convicted for violence or threats of violence against officers of internal affairs bodies, as well as for insulting and resisting them. At the same time, the preventive work being carried out is yielding tangible results, and the overall number of such criminal offences has significantly decreased,” the Interior Ministry said.

The ministry also reported cases of provocation, the spread of false information and attempts to exert pressure on police officers online, stating that such “actions will not go unpunished.”

The Interior Ministry warned that strict liability measures are предусмотрены for illegal actions against police officers, including up to seven years’ imprisonment.
