Subscribers of the mobile operator A1 are unable to register on the Signal messenger, the outlet “Bureau” reports.
To register in the messenger, users must enter a six-digit code sent via SMS. However, A1 restricts the ability to receive this code. Customers of MTS and Life do not face this problem.
When attempting to register, A1 customers receive the following message: “Signal was unable to send an SMS code due to issues with the SMS provider.”
“Bureau” contacted A1 technical support posing as a concerned user, but was told that nothing is being blocked.
“The company [A1] does not block the operation of applications, messengers, or social networks,” A1 stated.
Signal is considered the most secure messenger because it uses end-to-end encryption for all chats. This prevents developers or third parties from accessing users’ correspondence.
