Georgia deported 39 Belarusian citizens between January and September 2026. Eight people were deported in the first quarter, 16 in the second and 15 in the third, according to three quarterly reports published by the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Among the deported Belarusian citizens were 32 men and seven women. All were adults. Twenty-two were aged between 26 and 40, ten between 41 and 65, and seven between 18 and 25.

In total, Georgia deported 3,170 people during the nine-month period. Of these, 904 were deported in the first quarter, 1,132 in the second and 1,134 in the third. Turkish citizens accounted for the largest group, with 791 deportations. Georgia also deported 254 Russian citizens, including 109 in the third quarter, and 30 Ukrainian citizens during the nine months.

It was previously reported that Belarusian citizen Leu Mikheyeu was deported from Georgia to Armenia in late September. He had been seeking asylum in Georgia since 2021. According to Mikheyeu, he was driven to the border and handed over to the Armenian authorities, who detained him because he was wanted under an interstate search request issued by the Belarusian authorities.

After the reporting period ended, on November 6, another Belarusian citizen was detained during an identity check in the Tbilisi metro. Both his Belarusian passport and his temporary identity document issued in Georgia had expired. According to human rights defender Raman Kisliak, the man had applied for asylum because of political persecution in Belarus, but his application was rejected. He now faces the risk of deportation to Belarus.
