Belarus to Send Another Shipment of Potash Fertiliser to the US

Belarus will send another shipment of potash fertiliser to the United States. This was announced by Belarus’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Valiantsin Rybakou.

“Another shipment will evidently be sent to the US market in the near future,” he said, BelTA reports.

Earlier, it was reported that a bulk carrier carrying 30,000 tonnes of Belarusian potash fertiliser had been dispatched to the port of New Orleans. According to media reports, it was due to arrive there last week. Rybakou confirmed that the fertiliser had been delivered to the United States.

“One shipment of our potash is already at the port of New Orleans. It has been fully cleared through customs and accepted as a Belarusian product. This is a tangible, practical result of the United States lifting sanctions on our potash industry,” he said.

The United States lifted sanctions on Belaruskali and the Belarusian Potash Company in the spring. This week, sanctions were also lifted on Belaruskali CEO Andrei Rybakou.
