Lukashenka Approves Draft Amendments to EAEU Customs Code Treaty

Belarus has approved a draft protocol amending the April 11, 2017 Treaty on the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The relevant decree was signed by Aliaksandr Lukashenka.

The draft protocol provides for amendments identified by EAEU member states as priorities and intended to resolve outstanding issues in customs regulation, Lukashenka’s press service reports.

The amendments concern container and piggyback transport, the use of navigation seals, the harmonisation of electronic document management, the regulation of imports of marine fishing products, and the prevention of cases of sham transit of goods.

The State Customs Committee has been authorised to conduct negotiations and sign the protocol.
