https://reform.news/en/tusk-to-discuss-drone-incident-with-nauseda/Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk will discuss with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda an incident involving a drone that exploded over Lithuanian territory on Sunday. The Lithuanian government claims the drone came from Poland.
“Immediately after the government meeting, I will receive the Lithuanian president, and we will discuss the drone incident. The Lithuanian government has already issued a statement. I want to confirm that we will work closely with Lithuania and clarify the entire situation surrounding the drone that exploded near the Lithuanian-Latvian border and, according to all available information, came from the Polish side. We will investigate all the circumstances, and I expect full cooperation from the Ukrainian side so that we can establish what really happened. Without emotion, without ill intent, but…
But I will be very persistent in demanding a full explanation from Poland. The Operational Commander of the Polish Armed Forces will request this explanation. Regardless of the outcome of the investigation, I want to emphasise very strongly that Poland does not allow operations on or over its territory without the direct consent of the Polish state. And that will not change, regardless of who conducts the operation,” he said.
Nausėda is visiting Poland today. The visit coincides with the anniversary of the 1791 Mutual Pledge. Adopted on October 20, the act amended the Constitution of May 3 and explicitly established equality between the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
