Belarus and China have signed an intergovernmental agreement on development cooperation. A joint meeting of the two countries’ Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held today.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, Minister Yury Chabatar outlined the main priorities for future cooperation: expanding trade and access for Belarusian products to the Chinese market; investment and industrial cooperation; and the development of the Great Stone Industrial Park.

As part of the park’s development, amendments to its legal framework are being prepared to expand the range of permitted activities and provide additional benefits for investors.

The sides have also begun preparations for the Second Forum of Regions, which is scheduled to take place in China next year.

The minister also met with Chen Xiaodong, head of China’s China International Development Cooperation Agency, during which the new agreement was signed.
