The KGB detained at least 10 officers from the Machulishchy air base who are suspected of having contacts with former Lieutenant Colonel Dzmitry Zara, Nasha Niva reports.

According to the publication, the detentions began after Zara was arrested. Belarusian security forces consider him an analyst for former United Transitional Cabinet (UTC) representative for defense and national security Valery Sakhashchyk.

Those detained reportedly include Zara’s former colleagues who knew him personally. Most are reportedly experienced pilots, including colonels. According to the publication, they are currently being held in the KGB pre-trial detention center.

According to Nasha Niva, the detainees deny intentionally passing on any information and say the charges came as a surprise to them. The publication does not yet have precise information about the charges brought against them.

Security forces believe that Zara was involved in information gathering and analytical work on the team of Valery Sakhashchyk, who was responsible for defense and national security issues in the UTC from 2022 to 2024.

It is not known how Zara ended up in Belarus. His last Instagram post appeared on February 3, 2026, and was devoted to the self-sacrifice of Jesus Christ. After that, he stopped posting.

The publication contacted Sakhashchyk, but he declined to comment on the situation.
