https://reform.news/en/drones-attack-moscow-fire-breaks-out-at-kapotnya-oil-refinery/Early on September 20, drones attacked Moscow. The attack was confirmed by eyewitnesses and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
“An attack by enemy drones on Moscow is continuing. A facility on the grounds of the Moscow Oil Refinery has been damaged. There are no casualties. Emergency services are working at the scene,” Sobyanin wrote on his social media, referring to the Moscow Oil Refinery in Kapotnya.
He later added that a drone had struck a building in the area of Orekhovy Boulevard.
Sobyanin’s latest message was posted at 7:51 a.m. He called the attack the largest since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
“The largest-ever attack by enemy drones on Moscow has been repelled. Since yesterday, more than 1,600 UAVs have been intercepted on all fronts. Of these, 450 were on approach to Moscow. Thanks to the air defense personnel for their selfless work. Nevertheless, several drones reached the grounds of the Moscow Oil Refinery, and one struck a residential building. There were no fatalities.
The unprecedented attack was clearly planned with the aim of disrupting the elections. The enemy failed to achieve this,” he said.
Eyewitnesses are posting footage of the aftermath of the attack online. A large fire apparently broke out at the Sofyino logistics technopark and at the oil refinery in Kapotnya.
