Around 30 hectares of forest are on fire in the area of the Parechcha village council in the Hrodna Region. To extinguish the blaze, the Emergency Situations Ministry has deployed a Mi-8 helicopter, which is drawing water from Lake Malachnaye using a specialized Bambi Bucket water-scooping device.

The system is mounted on the helicopter’s external sling and allows up to 3 tonnes of water to be collected in a single cycle, the agency’s press service reported.
