A traffic accident involving a 9-year-old and a 7-year-old child occurred in Luninets.
According to preliminary information, a 9-year-old boy was riding a quad bike along Makaionka Street. Near house No. 14, he struck a 7-year-old cyclist who was riding along the edge of the roadway in the same direction, the Brest Regional Executive Committee’s Internal Affairs Directorate reported.
The cyclist sustained injuries. After receiving medical assistance, the child was allowed to return home.
The quad bike was taken to a secured impound lot. Authorities established that the child’s mother had given him the keys to the vehicle. She was fined five base units (225 Belarusian rubles) for allowing a person without the legal right to drive to operate the vehicle.
