Emergency repair work is continuing across Belarus following the passage of a thunderstorm front and squally winds that caused widespread power outages.
According to the Energy Ministry, electricity supply disruptions have been recorded in 438 settlements. The most difficult situation remains in the Minsk, Vitsyebsk, Hrodna and Homiel regions. In the Minsk Region alone, 295 settlements remain without electricity.
The damage has mainly affected 10 kV distribution networks, with 95 power lines out of service.
A total of 180 emergency repair crews have been deployed to deal with the aftermath of the storm. Additional specialists from the Brest, Mahiliou and Vitsyebsk regions have been sent to the Minsk Region.
Power engineers are giving priority to restoring electricity supply to agricultural enterprises involved in the harvest campaign.
The most difficult situation remains in the Vileyka district, where the storm affected 172 settlements. Twenty 10 kV power lines were damaged, along with utility poles, while numerous trees fell onto the network. Restoration work is being carried out jointly with the Emergencies Ministry.
More than 20 emergency repair crews are working in the Vileyka district, with additional specialists continuing to arrive from other regions of the country.

As of 10:45 a.m., restoration work was underway in 214 settlements in the Minsk Region, Minskenergo reported. A total of 85 emergency repair crews comprising 312 specialists, 125 pieces of specialized equipment and 16 mobile diesel power stations have been deployed across the region. The Vileyka district remains the hardest hit because of the extensive damage to power networks. Electricity is still unavailable in 146 settlements in the district.
