Fourteen settlements in Belarus were affected by a thunderstorm front on Monday, June 29. Wind gusts reached 22 metres per second.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, roofs were damaged on 52 residential buildings, 22 agricultural buildings and eight outbuildings in the Homiel Region. In Babruysk, roofs were damaged on two social and cultural facilities. Restoration work is underway.
In the village of Hubichy in the Buda-Kashaliova District, the slate roof of a calf barn collapsed. Thirty-three calves aged between three and nine months were rescued from the debris.
In the agro-town of Byvalki in the Lojeu District, a concrete-block garage was destroyed. A passenger car was damaged.
The Homiel Region recorded 54 incidents of fallen trees, with one vehicle damaged. In the Mahiliou Region, 122 trees fell, damaging 11 vehicles, while another vehicle was damaged by a falling sheet of slate.
No injuries were reported.
