A group of 10 former Belarusian political prisoners, released on September 16 with U.S. assistance, is expected to arrive in Warsaw today. The estimated arrival time is around 3:30 p.m., the press service of the United Transitional Cabinet reported.

The group will arrive at the Belarusian Solidarity Center at 6 Oleandrów Street. They are accompanied by Veranika Stankevich, coordinator of the “Volnyja” initiative.

As reported the day before, 13 released Belarusian political prisoners will remain in Lithuania, while two others will travel to another country.

As a reminder, on September 16, following negotiations between John Coale and Aliaksandr Lukashenka, 25 people were released. They were taken out of Belarus to Lithuania. In exchange, the United States will lift sanctions on Bellesbumprom and Lakokraska. Coale also said that the release of political prisoners and the lifting of sanctions would continue.
