Zrobim architects co-founder Andrei Makouski has reappeared on social media after his detention, Nasha Niva reported. On April 26, he published a post with renderings of a studio project.
“Houses in our project ‘Heart of the Volga’. A balance of traditional form and modern architecture”, he wrote.
The previous post had been published on April 14.
It should be recalled that on April 9 and 10, security forces visited the office of ZROBIM architects. Employees who were in the studio were detained. A Telegram channel close to the security forces linked the detentions to a post by Makouski on social media, in which he spoke about a letter from state authorities requiring the company to hire an ideologist. It was later reported that the claims of the security forces against Zrobim architects were related to tax evasion.
“There was not a fully envelope-based salary. We had a certain bonus component that was paid to employees additionally, and taxes were not paid on it. I fully repent and admit my guilt in this. Also, part of the contract amounts was not fully reflected in the documents, and taxes were also not paid on them. I sincerely understand that in the pursuit of some income, one wants to maintain and increase the level of earnings. But you never think about the other side of this issue. We immediately cooperated with the investigation. I confessed right away and wrote a voluntary statement, because I understood that it was wrong”, Makouski said in a report by pro-government media.
ZROBIM architects is a Belarusian architectural studio founded in 2011 by Andrei Makouski and Aliaksei Karabliou. The company operates both in Belarus and abroad and regularly receives international awards. Last year, a school project in the Minsk district of Novaya Baravaya won the IIDA Global Excellence Award 2025 in the “Education” category.
