A freight train injured a 42-year-old woman at a railway crossing in Hrodna. The incident occurred on March 28 at around 16:05 near V. Hlukhava Street on the “Hrodna — Park Raionnaya” section.
According to the regional police, the woman was walking with headphones and listening to music, which caused her not to notice the approaching train. She turned her head only at the last moment, when the train was about a meter away. The crossing is equipped with a pedestrian passage, light and sound signals, and a video surveillance system.
The woman was taken to hospital with a traumatic brain injury, a fracture of the base of the skull, multiple lacerations to the head, rib fractures, pneumothorax, as well as fractures of the thoracic and lumbar spine.
The circumstances of the incident are being established.
