“Very Good Indeed” — Lukashenka Praises Victory Parade on Red Square

Alyaksandr Lukashenka gave a positive assessment of the Victory Day parade in Moscow. Speaking to journalists, he admitted that he had been concerned about the shortened format of the event but said he was satisfied with the outcome.

“I was worried that you shortened it, and I wondered how it would turn out. I’ll tell you — it was very good indeed. I have very good impressions,” his press service quoted him as saying.

“Even if they hadn’t invited me, I would have come to my own Red Square. To my own Moscow. I was born when Moscow was the capital,” he said. “As current times have shown, no one can prevent us from celebrating this Great Victory. It is our heritage. We cannot lose it.”

As previously reported, the United States announced a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia for May 9, 10, and 11, along with a planned 1000-for-1000 prisoner exchange. Zelenskyy confirmed the three-day ceasefire and signed a decree “On Holding a Parade in Moscow.” The document authorizes the parade in Moscow and excludes Red Square from the list of targets for Ukrainian weapons systems.
