Valfovich Reports to Lukashenka on Second Stage of Combat Readiness Check

State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alyaksandr Valfovich today reported to Alyaksandr Lukashenka on the completion of the second stage of a combat readiness check of the Armed Forces.

During the second stage, the combat readiness of most military units was checked across almost all formations of the Armed Forces, including the Special Operations Forces. The focus was placed on live-fire and physical training exercises at training grounds. A broader range of tasks was also practiced.

“Issues such as loading materiel onto transport, receiving ammunition at designated depots, and carrying out marches over various distances were practiced. At the same time, different military units were assigned different routes,” Valfovich was quoted as saying by BelTA.

During the combat readiness check, units of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were used as a simulated adversary. Valfovich reported a preliminary assessment of the actions of servicemen of the Armed Forces and the Internal Troops.

“Of course, the experience of the special military operation was taken as a basis. The units being checked were influenced by a simulated adversary, in whose role we used units of the Internal Troops,” Valfovich said.

Lukashenka instructed that the identified shortcomings be analyzed in order to determine weak points and improve the training of servicemen, including officers.

The inspection is continuing. A number of additional military units will also be checked.

“For those military units that we subjected to the examination, the combat readiness check has been completed. The remaining military units need to be prepared. The inspection has not yet been fully completed. A number of military units will be subjected to checks so that we can assess all branches of the Armed Forces and draw conclusions. After that, we will conduct an analysis and prepare for a review by the commander-in-chief,” the State Secretary of the Security Council said.

It should be recalled that Alyaksandr Lukashenka launched a snap combat readiness check bypassing the Ministry of Defence on January 16.
