Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aliaksandr Valfovich met with “negligent” agricultural workers who had been sent to the army, praised them and criticized agricultural managers for failing to set clear tasks.

According to Valfovich, about 500 people were drafted in Belarus in total. They were divided into two groups: one based at the 103rd Separate Guards Airborne Brigade in Vitsyebsk and another based at the 30th Separate Railway Brigade.

The airborne brigade received people subject to conscription who were registered with military enlistment offices. After training, they were sent to the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.

“They underwent coordination exercises and restored their military occupational specialty skills. They are now carrying out tasks together with representatives of the Special Operations Forces to cover the southern borders: conducting fortification work and training and combat tasks to patrol particularly dangerous areas of the Ukrainian-Belarusian border”, Valfovich said.

Valfovich met today with the second group, assembled at the 30th Separate Railway Brigade. He praised the conscripts and said they worked well when tasks were clearly defined.

“According to their commanders, they conscientiously carry out their tasks and strive to be exemplary servicemen. That is what army life, its routine, clear task-setting and accountability mean. People have been put into army frameworks, and they have a clear, strict schedule.

Where a manager clearly sets tasks and specific targets for the day and the week, there are results. There, cleaning is also organized and carried out on time, and work gets done. It is exactly the same here,” Valfovich said.

The Security Council secretary stressed that the quality of the harvesting campaign depends on the work of agricultural enterprise managers.

“Today, life forces every citizen of the Republic of Belarus to perform their tasks properly, accurately and on time. This applies to everyone: the military, teachers, doctors and, especially, agricultural enterprise managers. Our harvest depends on clear task-setting, deadlines and timely harvesting, as well as on how disciplined the employees of enterprises, especially agricultural enterprises, are in their work”, Valfovich said.

It should be recalled that Aliaksandr Lukashenka ordered agricultural workers who performed poorly during the harvest to be sent to the army. About 500 people were gathered across the country and formed into battalion tactical groups.

Lukashenka recently said that the agricultural workers had been re-educated during military service and allowed the defence minister to reward them.
