https://reform.news/en/united-list-leads-in-latvia-s-parliamentary-election/The “United List” received 35.297% of the vote in Latvia’s parliamentary election and is provisionally set to win 42 of the 100 seats in the Saeima. This is according to data from the Central Election Commission as of 10:55 on October 4.
Voting took place on Saturday, October 3.
By this time, votes for party lists had been counted at 1,040 of 1,059 polling stations — around 98%. Six political alliances are clearing the five-percent threshold.

The “United List,” which includes the Latvian Green Party, the Latvian Association of Regions and the Liepāja Party, received 283,273 votes. The “United List” is part of the governing coalition, and its representative Andris Kulbergs has headed the Latvian government since May 2026.
In second place is “Latvia First” with 13.094% of the vote and a provisional 17 seats. The “Sovereign Power / Young Latvians” alliance is third, with 11.730% and 15 seats.
The National Alliance received 8.905% of the vote and could win ten seats, the Progressives — 7.827% and nine seats, and New Unity — 6.341% and seven seats.
The Union of Greens and Farmers, with 4.409%, remains below the parliamentary threshold for now. Also below the threshold are “For the Development of Latvia” — 2.180%, “Stability!” — 1.999%, and “Harmony Centre” — 0.822%.
Turnout was 51.81%: 807,067 of 1,557,615 eligible voters cast ballots. This is the lowest turnout since Latvia regained independence.
The results and seat distribution are preliminary. Although the “United List” is significantly ahead of its competitors, 42 seats are not enough for an outright majority in the Saeima.
