Two Belarusian citizens were fined for bringing in cosmetics that customs officials deemed a commercial shipment.
The Belarusians crossed the Lithuanian-Belarusian border by car at the Kamenny Loh checkpoint and chose the green channel. During an inspection, customs officials found more than 200 cosmetic items among the driver’s and passenger’s personal belongings. Their value was estimated at more than 32,000 rubles.
The State Customs Committee reminded travelers that goods worth up to 500 euros and weighing up to 25 kg can be brought in without paying customs duties.
The driver and passenger were held administratively liable. They paid a fine equal to 10% of the value of the goods.
