Two Belarusians Detained With Drone at Polish Border

Belarusian border guards have detained two people with a drone near the Belarusian-Polish border. The detention took place during the night of June 25.

Border guards discovered an Audi vehicle, a homemade drone, a controller, eight batteries, a laptop with specialised software and an antenna. All the seized items have been sent for forensic examination, the State Border Committee said.

Administrative proceedings have been initiated against the two Belarusian citizens for violating the border regime under Part 2 of Article 24.19 of the Code of Administrative Offences. Their actions also show signs of violations of airspace regulations under Part 2 of Article 18.35 and unlawful actions involving civilian unmanned aerial vehicles under Part 1 of Article 18.38 of the Code of Administrative Offences.

The detainees face a fine of up to 130 base units and confiscation of the drone.
