Twenty-Two People Evacuated After Overnight Fire In Homel Dormitory

Twenty-two people were evacuated from a dormitory in Homel following a fire, the Emergencies Ministry’s press service reported. Information about smoke on Praspiekt Kastrychnika was received overnight through the “Molniya” emergency notification transmission system.

Smoke was observed in a corridor on the first floor of the five-story building. Rescuers organized the evacuation of 22 people, while the remaining residents left the building on their own.

The fire was extinguished using a fire extinguisher. The cause of the incident is being established.

Five units of Emergencies Ministry equipment were deployed at the scene. No injuries were reported, the ministry said.
