Belarusian Prime Minister Aliaksandr Turchyn said export shipments were facing problems after briefing Aliaksandr Lukashenka on Sept. 2. Following the briefing, Lukashenka gave the government instructions taking into account recent agreements with Russia.
Turchyn described the economic situation as positive but said problems were constantly emerging. One of the difficulties was the logistics of export shipments.
“There is a certain degree of optimism in the economy. Both GDP growth over seven months and the trends we see through the end of the current year. In fact, all sectors of the economy have moved into positive and favorable dynamics.
But the situation is absolutely ambiguous both across sectors and among individual business entities. And the constantly emerging, so to speak, difficulties keep us on our toes when making certain decisions. It may seem that even an issue such as logistics. Today, events in the world are undoubtedly affecting our business entities, primarily export shipments. Therefore, we have to look for alternative routes in some cases. Difficulties arise”, Turchyn said.
Overall, the prime minister remains optimistic about the economic situation in Belarus.
“The positive trends that exist in the economy will continue. We look with cautious optimism at the end of the current year and the beginning of the next”, Turchyn said.
