The incident on the Latvian border is part of a broader trend. A free and democratic Belarus is vital to Europe’s security. Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya said this in a post on X yesterday, commenting on the incident on the Belarus-Latvia border.

“The latest incident at Latvia’s border is part of a wider pattern. The Belarus regime continues to threaten Europe through migration and other hybrid attacks. These threats will continue as long as it remains in power.

A free, democratic Belarus is essential to Europe’s security,” she wrote.

On Tuesday, people wearing masks crossed the border and stole two surveillance cameras on the Latvian side. Earlier, armed masked men drove a group of at least 20 migrants toward the Latvian border and threatened Latvian military personnel.
