A 44-year-old resident of the Vileyka district was killed at a vehicle service station in the agrotown of Azertsa in the Minsk district. The accident occurred on May 19.
The man had intended to get a job at the service station. He had begun training without formal employment registration.
“At one point, the man decided to inflate a KAMAZ truck wheel himself using a compressor. Despite the fitting repeatedly coming loose and the driver warning him about the danger of wheel depressurisation, he continued to hold it by hand during operation. Suddenly, a metal component of the split wheel rim was ejected and the tyre burst. The trainee sustained injuries incompatible with life”, the Investigative Committee said.
Investigators examined the scene, questioned witnesses and ordered forensic examinations. An inquiry is underway into the fatal incident.
