The State Traffic Inspectorate will increase road enforcement efforts over the weekend. Traffic police patrols will conduct preventive operations in populated areas and on highways, with particular attention paid to cyclists and users of personal mobility devices. Special raids involving the Strela special traffic police unit have been organized on high-risk road sections.
Traffic police officers will focus on identifying drunk drivers and unlicensed motorists, as well as speeding violations, improper overtaking and failures to yield at pedestrian crossings, the Interior Ministry’s press service reported.
Cyclists and users of personal mobility devices are reminded that they must dismount when crossing roadways and use reflective elements during hours of darkness.
