The Transport Ministry has announced the completion of reconstruction of a 60-kilometer section of the R-46 Lepel–Polatsk–Russian border (Yukhavichy) highway between Polatsk and Lepel.
The road now meets the standards of the second technical category, with its load-bearing capacity increased to 11.5 tonnes.
During the reconstruction, more than 417,000 tonnes of asphalt concrete were laid, 30 kilometers of barrier fencing and 47 kilometers of fencing to keep wild animals off the road were installed, 54 bus stops were equipped, and 5 kilometers of sidewalks were built. A traffic monitoring and video surveillance system was also introduced.
