Three Foreign Nationals Detained in Belarus With Consignment of Mephedrone

Drug control officers from Minsk Region, together with members of the Berkut special unit, detained three foreign nationals aged between 17 and 20.

As the Belarusian Interior Ministry reported, they lived together in Minsk, were not officially employed, received large consignments of drugs, packaged them and distributed them through caches in Minsk and Minsk Region. About 2 kg of mephedrone was found and seized in the detainees’ apartment and in caches set up in a forest.

A criminal case has been opened over illegal drug trafficking. The detainees could face up to 15 years in prison.
