“‘The Guys Apologised.” Tsikhanouski Resolved the Situation Around the UK Visa

Siarhei Tsikhanouski released a video saying he had clarified the situation with the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya regarding the UK visa for receiving the Magnitsky Award. He said the team apologised to him.

“Friends, in the evening I had a call with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya’s advisers Dzianis Kuchynski and Franak Viačorka. We went through the situation with the Magnitsky Award in detail and concluded that the office indeed did not inform me about receiving the award, as the situation had changed several times, and did not assist with obtaining the UK visa. The guys apologised, and the incident is fully resolved. I have no claims against the Office.

I am now in Lithuania with my family. I love my wife and am endlessly grateful to her for everything she has done for me personally and for Belarus. Only together can we build a country to live in. Long live Belarus!” he said.

Earlier in mid-November, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya visited London, where she received the Magnitsky Award. The prize was also awarded to Tsikhanouski, but he was unable to travel to the United Kingdom due to the absence of a visa. At the time, Tsikhanouski accused the Office of failing to inform him about the award and not helping him obtain the visa. The Office of Tsikhanouskaya, in turn, stated that he had been advised in advance to apply for a visa and had been assisted in booking an appointment, but he did not submit his fingerprints.
