A meeting between Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha took place on October 13 at the Warsaw Security Forum.

The sides discussed sanctions against the Lukashenka regime and Ukraine’s cooperation with Belarusian democratic forces. Ukraine’s foreign minister noted that a democratic Belarus is an important pillar of security in the region.

“An independent and democratic Belarus is an important pillar of security in our region. Its future must be determined by the Belarusian people, not Moscow.

We held a substantive discussion on security challenges, sanctions, the Lukashenka regime’s responsibility for complicity in Russian aggression, and further cooperation between Ukraine and Belarusian democratic forces,” Sybiha said.
