State Customs Committee Stops Export Of 80 Tonnes Of Pears To Russia

Since the beginning of the month, Belarusian customs officers have detained more than 80 tonnes of pears that were being illegally transported to Russia.

In three cases, the carriers were individual entrepreneurs from Belarus, while in one case it was a legal entity. Drivers of three trucks did not have all the necessary documents for the cargo, while the fourth provided documents that did not correspond to the shipment, the State Customs Committee reports.

The value of the seized fruit is estimated at more than 540,000 rubles. Administrative proceedings have been launched. The carriers face fines of up to 50% of the value of the goods.
