Chairman of the Supreme Court Andrei Shved has proposed creating a permanent coordination body with his Russian counterpart, Igor Krasnov. The initiative is linked to a memorandum of cooperation signed between the supreme courts of Belarus and Russia.
“Today, we propose discussing, in a working format, the creation of a permanent body for cooperation within the framework of implementing the memorandum. For now, we can refer to it as an organizational council on justice issues, chaired by the heads of the supreme courts of Belarus and Russia,” Shved said.
He also proposed preparing a specific action plan starting next year. As noted earlier, the signed memorandum defines the rules and formats for further cooperation and is aimed at ensuring a unified approach to the administration of justice.
“Thus, the memorandum covers the full cycle of cooperation, from information exchange and joint training to the development of common positions and external coordination. I am convinced that this document will serve as our shared guideline for the years ahead,” Shved said.
