SBU Provides Details of Attack on Moscow Oil Refinery

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has confirmed that the Moscow Oil Refinery was struck for the second time in a week.

At least four major fire outbreaks were recorded at the refinery.

“According to preliminary information, Ukrainian drone strikes hit the tank farm, the crude distillation unit (which carries out the primary processing of crude oil), and the diesel fuel hydrotreating unit,” the SBU said.

The previous attack on the refinery took place on June 16. Following that strike, the refinery temporarily suspended operations.

“The repeated strikes on the Moscow Oil Refinery demonstrate that Ukrainian drones are capable of systematically hitting the enemy’s most important strategic facilities in the very heart of the Russian Federation. Each such attack forces Russia to spend additional resources on repairs, strengthening air defenses and restructuring logistics. The SBU will continue to conduct special operations that deplete the aggressor’s economic potential and increase the cost of war for Russia,” the SBU said.
