Russian Agricultural Exports to Belarus Rise by 20% in Two Months

Russia supplied Belarus with agricultural products and food worth about $670 million in January–February, the Agroexport centre at Russia’s Agriculture Ministry reported. In value terms, exports increased by 20%. In physical terms, shipments totalled 575,000 tonnes.

The largest categories of Russian agricultural exports to Belarus were:

  • sunflower oil — more than $98 million (+16%);
  • cat and dog food — about $37 million (+75%);
  • rapeseed — more than $33 million (-8%);
  • soybeans — about $28 million (up 3.6 times);
  • instant coffee — about $18 million (+90%).

The highest growth in supplies was recorded for the following items:

  • soybeans — up 3.6 times to $28 million;
  • roasted coffee with caffeine — up 2.5 times to $9.5 million;
  • frozen mackerel — up 2.3 times to $4.6 million.
