Russia’s Orsk Oil Refinery Halted After Drone Strike

The oil refinery in Orsk in Russia’s Orenburg Region has been shut down after a drone attack. Regional Governor Yevgeny Solntsev.

“The situation there is difficult. The damaging elements hit key infrastructure, which cannot currently be restored. The equipment is imported, and due to sanctions, repairs will take up to six months. The refinery has been completely shut down. We are preparing for the worst-case scenario”, he said.

The refinery was attacked on Aug. 11. A fire broke out at the plant as a result. Local authorities said that eight drones had been shot down that day.
