Russia Destroys 40 Tonnes of Pears Imported from Belarus

On February 4 and 5, 40.8 tonnes of pears imported from Belarus were destroyed in Russia’s Pskov Region, according to Rosselkhoznadzor.

Two trucks traveling around phytosanitary checkpoints were stopped near the village of Kunya. The drivers had no documents for the goods. Labels on the boxes of pears indicated countries of origin as Poland and the Netherlands.

The pears were destroyed at a municipal solid waste landfill. Administrative offense cases have been opened.
