US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said a software glitch had been detected in the system for warning of missile launches. He made the statement in Samarkand in response to a question about why the United States had again failed to warn Kyiv about the launch of Russian ballistic missiles overnight, according to Ukrainian officials.

“don’t know, y’all. I mean, I don’t know exactly what happened last night. I know a few nights ago there was a software problem involving their early warning system. I know CENTCOM – I’m sorry, I know EUCOM had been involved in looking at that, and that’s a report they gave us back. I can’t comment on what happened last night,” he said.

According to Rubio, the United States has not suspended intelligence sharing with Ukraine.
