“Belorusneft” presented its first robotic retail complex. The robot, called “Tsikavik,” has started operating at Gas Station No. 17 of RUE “Belorusneft-Gomeloblnefteprodukt” (the agrotown of Yeryomina near Homiel).
According to the company’s press service, the automated complex accepts orders, selects products, and dispenses them to customers. The ассортимент includes hundreds of items, ranging from chewing gum to 5-liter canisters of windshield washer fluid.
The project was implemented jointly with the company “IdeyRobotiksTreid.” It took about a year to create the complex. A standard kiosk was adapted for the robot’s operation. It has two functional zones — a customer area and a technical area. The complex is currently being tested. If successful, it will be introduced at other gas stations.
Judging by Belorusneft’s video, the system is essentially a large vending machine. Customers select products on a large touchscreen, pay by card, and then a robotic manipulator picks the item from the shelves and places it into the pickup window.
