Residents Of Free Economic Zones Reduce Revenue And Profit

The economic performance of residents of Belarus’ free economic zones worsened in the first quarter, according to fresh data from Belstat.

Total sales revenue of FEZ residents decreased by 1.2% to 9.87 billion rubles. Their net profit fell by 34.8% to 378.2 million rubles.

Industrial output declined by 3.2% to 9.15 billion rubles.

FEZ residents also reduced investment in fixed capital. It fell by 15.5% to 623.8 million rubles.

Exports of goods from the FEZs increased by 6.1% in the first quarter to $2.06 billion, while exports of services rose by 16.3% to $27.15 million.

The number of FEZ residents decreased by five over the year and stood at 428 as of April 1, 2026. Of these, 415 were active residents, four fewer than a year earlier.

The average number of employees fell by 1.9% to 133,300 people. At the same time, their average salary increased by 9.4% to 2,834 rubles.
