Polish Prosecutors Send Case Against Organizer of Attack on Volkov to Court

Polish prosecutors have sent to court a criminal case against Russian citizen Anatoly B. (Blinov – Reform.news note). He is accused of organizing an attack on Russian opposition activist Leonid Volkov of the Anti-Corruption Foundation.

The charges concern five episodes. The first is the organization of an arson attack on a replica of Alexei Navalny’s prison cell in Vilnius in July 2023. The second is the use of force against Russian citizens living in Argentina, including organizing an attack on one of them in Buenos Aires in September 2023. The third is incitement to attack Volkov in November 2023. That incident did not result in a beating.

The fourth concerns organizing the beating of Volkov in March 2024. He was attacked by two Polish citizens, Igor C. and Maksymilian K..

The fifth charge concerns the use of a forged driver’s license.

The defendant remains in custody.

The prosecutor’s statement notes that charges have been brought against 10 suspects during the investigation. The investigation into the Polish citizens who attacked Volkov is continuing.
