The Interior Ministry press service has reported the uncovering of a large-scale theft scheme in the agricultural sector.
Eight officials from several major enterprises in Minsk Region are suspected in the case. Between August and November, they accepted more than 1,000 tonnes of rapeseed for storage. The accomplices then sold it to another business entity.
“The money received was cashed out, including through foreign companies, and divided among themselves. The damage caused exceeded 1.5 million rubles,” the Interior Ministry said.
A criminal case has been opened under the article covering theft through abuse of official powers by a group of persons acting in prior conspiracy on an especially large scale.
