The Investigative Committee has disclosed details of a kidnapping that took place in Pinsk last year. The victim was a 23-year-old local resident, and the motive for the crime was jealousy.
According to the investigation, a 23-year-old Pinsk resident was отдыхал outside the city with friends. In the middle of the evening, a neighbor from his dormitory called him and said that his wife was in a block with an unknown man.
Intoxicated, the Pinsk resident decided to confront the man. A group of four men found a “designated driver” and went to the dormitory. There, they decided to send a 17-year-old acquaintance into the apartment. He knocked on the door and, under the pretext of a conversation, asked the young man to step out onto the landing. As soon as he entered the corridor, the others grabbed him and took him outside. The victim tried to run away, but he was caught, beaten, and forced into the trunk of a car. Even before that, according to investigators, the group had decided to take the victim to the forest to “dig a grave.”
While in the trunk, the young man managed to call the police but was unable to provide details about the car. His phone was taken from him. The car later stopped on a country highway.
“One of the attackers led the victim to a ditch, struck him several times on the head and body, grabbed him by the neck, and then ordered him to get back into the trunk. The final point of the night’s nightmare was a deserted country road. The suspects allowed the man to get out. One of them began threatening that he would tie him to a tree in the forest. However, after a brief conversation, they returned his phone and demanded that he not report the incident to law enforcement authorities, after which they fled,” the Investigative Committee added.
Soon all four were detained by the police. Three of them were taken into custody, while the minor was placed under house arrest.
“By the verdict of the Pinsk District and City Court, the defendants were found guilty of unlawful deprivation of liberty (Part 1 of Article 183 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus). Three of them were sentenced to imprisonment for terms ranging from one year to two years and six months, while the minor received one and a half years of restricted freedom without being sent to an open-type correctional facility,” the Investigative Committee concluded.
